Environ Focus Care Youth+ review

written by Melain November 18, 2018
Environ Focus Care Youth+ review

I recently participated along with some other lovely ladies, in an Environ Focus Care Youth+ review with Environ and Rubybox. To say I was excited when offered this opportunity is an understatement! I was ecstatic as I absolutely love the brand! Environ being the very first product I used when starting my skincare journey and one that I often return to from time to time when my skin is in need of a bit of a changeup.

The Focus Care Range is a new range by Environ which aims to target specific skin conditions, those being aging, dehydration and sensitivity and will replace their intensive range. There are 3 ranges that fall within the Focus Care range. Each of these are unique and aimed at addressing specific skin condition, so you are left looking FLAWLESS. They are:

Focus Care™ Youth+ Range focuses on smoothing and strengthening aged skin.

Focus Care™ Moisture+ Range focuses on hydrating and nourishing dehydrated skin.

Focus Care™ Comfort+ Range focuses on soothing and comforting sensitive skin.

So let me fill you in on the details:

The idea behind the review was that I would use the products for a month, combined obviously with sunscreen of my choice during the day and or any other skincare essentials. A month being enough time to get a feel for the product and detect any changes in my skin. A designated Environ skin care specialist was assigned to me for any queries or issues.

My review will consist of details about the product, my thoughts, as well as a before and after piccies.

Let’s start! First, up

Focus Care™ Youth+ Tri Biobotanical Revival Masque:

Environ’s powerhouse product dubbed the facelift in a jar is a mask containing a trilogy of specifically selected ingredients Lactic Acid (AHA – exfoliant), Asiatic Acid (Antioxidant) and Mandelic Acid (AHA – exfoliant) which together assist in creating a younger looking skin that feels firmer and appears visibly smoother and radiantly revived.

My thoughts:

This is basically an exfoliant mask using Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) in the form of Lactic and Mandelic acids. AHA’s are a great way to improve skin tone and texture and generally safe to use even on sensitive skin.

The product comes nicely packaged in an airless container and includes an application brush (nice touch),  it’s white in colour, has a lotion consistency and no real smell. I find a 20c piece size amount is enough for my face and neck.

I generally apply the mask every 2nd or 3rd night after a good cleanse and leave for about 20 minutes, I then rinse off and apply my Avance Elixir and then Hydrating oil capsule, I generally wait about 5 – 10 minutes between applications. It’s an awesome mask and I have enjoyed the effects on my skin.

I initially started with 10 minutes to see my skin’s reaction, my skin felt fine and I had no sensation other than a very slight tingle at the start, so went up to 20 minutes on my 2nd application. I have been told that you can apply the mask every second day and that some even sleep with it on.

I messaged my designated Environ specialist about this and she confirmed this, her response: “In regards to the revival masque, yes it is possible to sleep with the mask. They have changed the formulation slightly and makes it even better for people with sensitive skins.”

I haven’t tried the mask overnight yet and the longest I’ve left it on was for probably about an hour and my skin was absoltely fine afterward.

Recommended Retail Price: R1020.00

Focus Care™ Youth+ Tri-Peptide Complex+ Avance Elixir:

The Tri-Peptide Complease+ Avance Elixir is a concentrated serum containing three super smart peptide complexes – Matrixyl® 3000, Trylagen and Martixyl Synthé 6®- and the plant extract Mêiritage™. This lightly textured serum may assist in enhancing the skin’s barrier function and in creating a more even skin tone, leaving it looking healthy and radiantly youthful.

My thoughts:

I have been using the product day and night for the past 3 weeks and I am sold. My skin feels and looks great. I have had no reactions and in fact my skin barrier seems to be quite strong, supple and healthy at the moment.

As with the Mask this product comes in an airless container and is a clear, transparent serum with a runnyish consistency and no smell, I find one pump to be sufficient for covering my face and neck.

Recommended Retail Price: R1360.00

Focus Care™ Youth+ Vita-Antioxidant Hydrating Oli Capsules:

A concentrated burst of vitamin enriched hydration for the skin. With a blend of Retinol and Antioxidants, these capsules help to protect the skin against the damaging effects of free radicals, leaving your skin looking visibly radiant and silky soft to the touch.

My thoughts:

These little capsules were just amazing and I savored every last one. Each capsule contains enough clear oil to cover my entire face and neck. The consistency is silky, almost silicone-like, but not at all oily. It glides on and then dissipates into my skin within minutes leaving it feeling silky soft with no residue and not at all oily. Being in a capsule means that the product is not exposed to air and the environment and therefore remains stable.

I used these quite sparingly, every 2nd or 3rd night due to the fact that I only had 10 (insert sad face). Most people twist the top open but I prefer to snip it open with a pair of nail scissors. It’s my pedantic nature I suppose.

Recommended Retail Price: R730.00

My Final Verdict:

After using all 3 products for just over 3 weeks now I can honestly say that I love them and most definitely noticed my skin to be more, hydrated, supple and even and had absolutely no reactions to the products.

There’s so much to love about the products but these are my top 5 reasons:

  1. Packaging is all airless, which means that the product does not come into contact with air until used thereby protecting the delicate active ingredients and preventing contamination.
  2. Products do not have added scents or colourants.
  3. They only use top quality and well-researched actives.
  4. These can be added to any skincare routine, you don’t necessarily need to be on the Environ Step up program in order to enjoy them.
  5.  Environ has been developed and formulated by South African plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandes, who has taken our harsh climate into consideration when formulating the products. Local is lekker, right?
Before and Afters:

Here are my before and after piccies. I am pretty diligent when it comes to looking after my skin and have incorporated actives, peels and micro-needling into my skincare routine for years now, so to see any visible change in a before and after picture on a phone camera can prove tricky. I would have preferred to have done a skin analysis like the Visia, before and after, which I think would have shown a more accurate picture. None-the-less, here they are and while you can’t really pick up too much on visible changes in the pictures, I can confirm that my skin feels great and I do feel a difference would be picked up under closer analysis. I mean I can see it with my eyeballs 🙂

Before and After. Both picture are unedited and no filter or makeup has been applied. I have also tried to incorporate the same lighting. Yes! I’m the before and after police!

Contact:

Unfortunately, you will not be able to pop onto a website and order these online, that being because the products are not available for online sale. A face to face consultation with an Environ Skincare Specialist is advised due to the unique product formulation and step up program aiming at complete customer satisfaction.

Finding a stockist is however sooooo easy, there’s literally one on every corner. Click this link and follow the prompts to find one near you. And if you find yourself a tad confused you’re welcome to go have a watch of my video outlining detailed instructions, here.

I hope you found this helpful and if you do use the products I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

xoxo
