Pillow talk – Get your best beauty sleep

You can have all the Botox in the world and use every possible age-defying, wrinkle zapping product on the market but you cannot escape the mark of the pillow! Unlike most wrinkles “sleep wrinkles” are not caused by muscle movement, therefore these cannot be prevented/treated with Botox. The only way to prevent these is to make sure to sleep on your back, ya right! I’m still trying to master this one, once you’re knocked out there’s no controlling where and how your face will be planted, unless of course, you strap yourself in, mmm, not an option!

Is silk just as good?… Well, no!… Here’s why

Firstly, farming silk is cruel and in order to make just one pillowcase, thousands of silkworms will need to die. Gasp! Ain’t nobody got time for cruelty to animals, especially for aesthetic pleasure!

And secondly, although silk may reduce friction due to its texture, it is a natural fiber and will therefore do just the same as cotton and suck up all the moisture from your hair and skin.

After finding out these facts! I just had to invest in one of these babies!!! After all, we spend almost a third of our lives sleeping, so why not use this time to pamper your hair and skin.

On my quest for longevity and the perfect satin pillowcase, I came across the most divine little local business, Dear Deer and I feel like I may finally get the beauty sleep I’ve been after.

My final verdict:

It’s a no-brainer!!! Everyone should have a satin pillowcase!

I have been using mine for just over a week now and I can confirm that my hair and skin are definitely reaping the rewards.
